Four representative journeys showing how dietary change can transform metabolic health.
“The Busy Mum”
Female, 42, South East Melbourne
12-month coaching program
Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at 39, she was told to “eat less and move more” — advice she had already been following for years. Juggling two school-age children and a part-time job, she had no time for complicated meal prep. Her HbA1c was climbing despite Metformin, and she was facing the prospect of insulin injections.
Within three months of switching to a low carb approach with our coaching, her fasting glucose dropped into the normal range for the first time in four years. After 12 months, her GP agreed to discontinue Metformin entirely.

“Working nights, I was eating rubbish from the vending machine at 2am. Now I meal prep on Sundays and my energy through a 12-hour shift is completely different.”
“The Shift Worker”
Male, 51, Western Melbourne
A warehouse logistics manager working rotating 12-hour shifts, he had been told his elevated triglycerides and insulin levels were “borderline” for years. His GP prescribed a statin, but his markers kept worsening. Eating patterns were erratic — skipping meals during day shifts, binge-eating during night shifts.
Our coaching focused on practical shift-friendly meal prep, timing nutrition around his roster, and simple keto meals he could take to work. Within six months, his triglycerides dropped from 3.8 to 1.2 mmol/L and his fasting insulin normalised.

“The Retired Farmer”
Male, 68, Gippsland region
After a lifetime of “meat and three veg” with plenty of bread and potatoes, retirement brought less activity but the same eating habits. His weight crept up, his knees ached, and a routine blood test revealed pre-diabetes and fatty liver. His wife joined the coaching program with him — making the kitchen transition far easier.

“The PCOS Warrior”
Female, 29, Mornington Peninsula
The Problem
Diagnosed with PCOS at 22, she had irregular periods (sometimes skipping 3–4 months), persistent acne, difficulty losing weight despite intense exercise, and rising anxiety about future fertility. Her fasting insulin was 24 mU/L — a clear sign of insulin resistance driving her PCOS symptoms. Previous doctors had only offered the oral contraceptive pill as a solution.
Our Approach
We focused on reducing insulin resistance through a moderate low carb diet (under 80g carbs/day), prioritising whole foods, adequate protein, and anti-inflammatory fats. We also addressed stress management and sleep quality — both of which amplify insulin resistance. Her coach worked closely with her GP to monitor hormonal markers alongside metabolic ones.
The Outcome
After five months, her periods regulated to a consistent 30–32 day cycle. Fasting insulin dropped from 24 to 10 mU/L. She lost 11 kg without extreme exercise — walking and yoga replaced her previous HIIT sessions. Her acne cleared significantly, and she reported feeling calmer and sleeping better. At her 9-month review, her fertility specialist confirmed improved ovarian function and recommended proceeding with family planning.
