Why Choose The Nutrition Science Group

A doctor-led team with in-person availability in South East Melbourne and telehealth across Australia.

Doctor-Led Team

Our team includes Dr Glen Davies (GP and Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine) and Dr John Stewart, ensuring your nutrition coaching is grounded in medical science, not fads.

In-Person Availability

Unlike online-only services, we offer face-to-face consultations at our Pakenham clinic. In-person sessions allow for body composition assessment, better rapport, and more thorough initial evaluations.

Telehealth Flexibility

Cannot make it to Pakenham every session? Follow-up coaching is available via secure video call, giving you the best of both worlds — local expertise with the convenience of home.

Blood Marker Focused

We track real metabolic markers — fasting glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin, triglycerides, and cholesterol panels — to measure progress objectively, not just by the number on the scale.

Evidence-Based Approach

Our coaching is based on published research in low carbohydrate nutrition, not generic dietary guidelines. We draw on the work of Virta Health, Dr David Unwin, Professor Tim Noakes, and others.

Conditions We Specialise In

Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, weight loss resistance, high cholesterol, fatty liver disease, and pre-diabetes. We work alongside your GP to ensure coordinated care.

Dr John Stewart founded The Nutrition Science Group to bridge the gap between nutrition science and practical, everyday application for people in South East Melbourne and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment at the Pakenham clinic?

You can book a free 15-minute consultation through our contact page or by calling 0425 310 625. We will discuss your health goals, answer your questions, and determine the best coaching program for your needs. From there, we schedule your initial 60-minute consultation.

Is there parking at 309 Army Road?

Yes. We have free on-site parking directly outside the clinic. The building has level entry and is wheelchair accessible. Pakenham train station is approximately 2 km away for those using public transport.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring any recent blood test results (ideally from the last 3–6 months), a list of current medications and supplements, and any health goals you would like to discuss. If you keep a food diary or use a fitness tracker, that information is helpful too.

Do you offer home visits across South East Melbourne?

We do not currently offer home visits. However, we offer both in-person consultations at our Pakenham clinic and telehealth sessions via secure video call. Many South East Melbourne clients attend their initial consultation in person and use telehealth for follow-ups.

Can I see you via telehealth if I live outside the local area?

Absolutely. While our physical clinic is in Pakenham, we work with clients across Victoria and interstate via telehealth. Your initial consultation can be done in person or via video call, depending on your preference and location.
